International Beauty Ranking is a ranking of countries based on performance in major beauty pageants for women and men. The higher the score, the more successful countries have been in international pageants since 1951.
Rules for awarding points
Since Miss World and Miss Universe are the two most prestigious pageants in terms of historical legacy and quality of candidates (most winners of national pageants for women go to either Miss World or Miss Universe), points for placements in these pageants are doubled.
If the winner or a runner-up is dethroned and officially replaced by another candidate, the country of the dethroned one will lose all the points achieved from the placement. The candidate assuming the title will be awarded points of the respective placement.
